About us
Dave Strecker, a graduate of IYRS’s Boatbuilding and Restoration program, started Padanaram Boat Works in his barn after a career at boatyards such as Concordia (where he was head shipwright) and Wooden Tangent, a yard specializing in Herreshoff-designed boats. The business quickly outgrew his modestly-sized shop, and the company moved to Portsmouth in February of 2021.
Keith Brown grew up on the water, and has been in and around boats his whole life (so far). Also an IYRS graduate, he has worked at a number of highly regarded boatyards including Concordia, Hinckley, and East Passage Boatwrights. He also served as Head Shipwright and Instructor at the Herreshoff Marine Museum. He sails as much as possible.
